These HP boards are what I joined this site for but I have yet to post on any of them after over a year of Nestlar-ism! (I think.)
So we know that Dumbledore believed that there were a possible 7 splits to Voldie's soul. (6 items + the one still in him) We know of Riddle's diary, the ring, and the locket for sure.
To the point: I kind of think that he might have made Harry into a Horcrux by accident on the night he tried to kill him. We know very little about the spell to make a Horcrux so it would almost make sense that Harry was one because it would explain so many things.
1. The Avada Kedavra is said to leave NO signs of harm on the victim; only killing them and Harry has a scar.
2. Harry and Voldemort share a lot of the same gifts, so if Voldie's soul were inside him it would explain a lot about how he can tap into his emotions/ mind, sense his presence, and speak parseltongue, etc.
3. The spell backfired. Doesn't there have to be a death to create a Horcrux and well if it backfired on Voldemort because of Lily's love and killed himself it wouldn't matter because well he had split his soul. So there would have been an extra piece of it floating around there (if this is what had happened) and then ended up in Harry as a final resort.
This is just a crackpot theory, yes I know, and I believe it's even plausable because it's just so damn convenient. And yes, there are definitely things to disprove this (ie not really time given for Voldie to perform the spell initiating the Horcrux between having something backfire and well being blown apart) but it seems there are more things that would make sense if he were. Just an idea. Input?
